St. Gregory the Great Seminary; Seward, NE
Gavin was born and raised in Jamestown, North Dakota in a Catholic family and received the sacraments as a kid. Although not attending mass frequently or having much of a prayer life during middle school, he rediscovered his faith in high school. By being invited to come back to youth group, he began a prayer life, met new friends, and learned about the beauty and importance of the Church and her sacraments, especially the Eucharist. Throughout this time, Gavin slowly sensed a gentle call in the direction of the priesthood but was resistant. He then attended the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota. After pondering and pursuing many different ideas of what he could do in life, the tug towards the priesthood never went away. Through much prayer and surrender, consecrating himself to Mary, and beginning to alter serve, he experienced a deep peace about becoming a priest. As he was completing his Bachelor of Arts at St. Thomas, he applied and was joyfully accepted as a seminarian for the Diocese of Fargo. Gavin is currently attending St. Gregory the Great Seminary in Seward, Nebraska.
