Respect Life Month / Respect Life Sunday

The Catholic Church in the United States celebrates October as Respect Life Month, and the first Sunday of October as Respect Life Sunday.

The USCCB’s website www.respectlife.org has an overwhelming amount of Pro-Life resources. Here are a few highlights:

Respect Life Month “Resources” page, includes poster, prayer card, litany, novena, articles, graphics (various formats are available for social media, electronic signs, etc.), and more.

• There are tool-kits for clergy, Catholic Schools, and faith formation at various levels. The Tool-Kit for Clergy contains intercessions which can be used at Mass, a Holy Hour, or as bulletin inserts.
• A brief reflection on the theme for 2026, “Mary, the Mother of Life”, is posted on the page www.respectlife.org/mary-mother-of-life. It can be downloaded and printed as a bulletin insert or handout. A summary of the article is also provided, which can be used as a bulletin or newsletter insert, or a social media post.
• An “Action Guide” is available from www.usccb.org/resources/respect-life-month-action-guide. A video walk through of the Action Guide is available on the www.respectlife.org/respect-life-month page.

Respect Life Sunday

• “Homily Helps” for October 4, Respect Life Sunday (www.usccb.org/resources/rlp-26-homily-helps.pdf), includes reflections on the readings for the Twenty-Seventh Sunday in Ordinary Time.
