Grand Forks, ND Propaedeutic Year Mount St. Mary Seminary - Emmitsburg, MD
Minh Le was born in Quang Tri Province, Vietnam, a place special to Vietnamese Catholics because of the Marian apparition of Our Lady of La Vang. He was raised in Saigon City and came to the United States as an adult to continue his education. He earned his Associate of Arts and Bachelor’s degrees in Nebraska before moving to North Dakota to pursue higher education at the University of North Dakota.
Throughout his life, Minh has experienced God’s call in many different ways. His parents and siblings have always supported his vocation through their love and prayers. His vocational call became stronger through time spent at the UND Newman Center, where the students, community, missionaries, and chaplain helped him grow in faith. The Newman Center holds a special place in Minh’s heart. Through daily Mass, adoration, and serving as an extraordinary minister of Holy Communion, Minh felt a deeper desire to serve God and His people.
As a social work student, Minh learned that caring for people means caring for the whole person, including their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. A special experience helping a Vietnamese woman find a priest for confession strengthened his call to the priesthood. Minh believes God has a plan for him in the Diocese of Fargo and desires to serve God’s people with love and compassion.
In his free time, Minh enjoys biking and listening to country music.
