Quincy Marchand was raised in a Catholic family in Harvey, ND. He is one of seven siblings, and grew up with an identical twin brother. Prayer, going to Mass, and learning the faith was a regular part of his childhood formation. After a severe accident involving Quincy at a young age, his father Rodney began a path to conversion to the Catholic faith, which resulted in the entire family experiencing a renewal and rediscovery of the faith. With his father's entrance into full communion with the Church in 2006, thoughts of the priesthood slowly started forming. Throughout middle school and high school, Quincy continued in the faith with his family, but it wasn't until World Youth Day in Poland that the thoughts of the priesthood became more real. After a powerful experience in Poland, seeing and moving with the Universal Church, the call to the priesthood rang clearer than before. Continuing through college, self-doubt and a sense of inadequacy slowed his call to the priesthood, but God responded with patience and understanding. After some years of wrestling with the question of the priesthood, Quincy heard the words his own father had heard during his conversion to the faith: "My grace is sufficient for you." With a new vision forward, he found the courage to apply for seminary formation.
